MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Provides prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill, injured and disabled persons under direction of a physician.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent

  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred; must be able to read, write and speak English

  • One year experience in a clinical setting.

  • Basic Computer skills

  • Annual OSHA Training

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

  • CPR Preferred

  • Medical Assistant Certificate

  • Phlebotomist Preferred

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

  • Able to run aerosol machine and dispense medication as instructed.

  • Has received previous training to inject patients with medications.

  • Has knowledge of EKG, lab, X-ray, holter monitor, accu-check, spirometry.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

  • Must be able to work independently and under pressure.

  • Ability to organize work and follow instructions.

  • Must be able maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

  • Must be able to follow policies and procedures and work flexible schedule.

  • Ability to communicate and deal effectively with patients, co-workers, medical staff, visitors and other health care providers.

  • Ability to work cooperatively with other office personnel.
