DISPATCHER

This positions plans, organizes and coordinates the daily pick up and drop off of patients utilizing assigned technology, making quick and effective decisions throughout the day.  Monitors vehicles and driver through GPS.  Uses nearest available driver to complete all trips in the most efficient way possible; develops routes for next working day; responsible for the daily communication between the drivers and the base, also reports to the Manager any vehicles malfunctioning or any other incident.  Seeks out ways of saving time and money on the day-to-day operations.  Responsible for managing day to day activities of transportation but not limited to staff development, process improvement and staff performance.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or its Equivalent

  • Three (3) year minimum of supervisory experience

  • Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) preferred; must be able to read, write and speak English

  • Basic math and computer skills

  • Good driving record and knowledge of Miami-Dade and Broward county streets and addresses

  • HIPPA testing required

  • Customer Service and leadership skills and training

  • Three (3) years minimum patient transport and routing experience in medical environment

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

  • Driver’s License-Class E

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Must be able to maintain patient confidentiality at all times

  • Ability to work in a fast pace and stressful environment, must be able to keep a positive attitude.

  • Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and in writing.

  • Ability to supervise daily activities of pick-ups and deliveries

  • Ability to work on schedule and independently

  • Ability to coordinate, lead and motivate team members

  • Good organizational and skills

  • Ability to develop a good working relationship with all team members

  • Must possess the ability to follow instructions, take directives and funnel them down to his / her subordinates

  • Must be able to follow policies and procedures and work flexible schedule and locations

  • Strong relationship with medical staff, peers, managers, patients and employees

  • Ability to work with supporting staff to develop most efficient and effective routing and scheduling processes.

  • Operate efficiently a computer and the needed software to handle the Transportation Programs and other related on line software to handle the Transportation Programs and other related line software (e.g. GPS, routing system) with appropriate training.
